Frequently Asked Questions

A: Appointments are recommended to ensure the best result. We will always do our best to fit you in. You are more than welcome to call or pop in for a free 15-minute consultation beforehand.

A: Our consultant will offer

  • Assessment of your skin type and needs and recommend the right solution for you.
  • A highly personal experience, not a cookie-cutter package that remains the same for everyone.
  • Personalised pre- and treatment advice on how to prepare yourself for your upcoming sessions.

A: Choose a sunscreen that is at least SPF30 or higher. Apply at least

  • Half a teaspoon for the face, neck and ears. That’s 2 finger lengths.
  • One teaspoon per arm or leg, or back or front of body
  • Reapply every 2 hours if you are outside.
  • Make sure you apply sun protection every day, even if you are indoor.

A: No. In fact, it makes your skin plumper and healthier by activating its self-repair process. Most people who wish to combat certain problems will receive more frequent sessions. Once they are happy with the results, some choose to leave it until they need treatment again, others opt for periodic maintenance. It is entirely up to you.

A: Anyone who wishes to have better skin, even out skin tone and reduce the signs of aging, appearance of acne scars, or simply wishes to give their skin a collagen boost is suitable.
All laser treatments have some collagen boosting effect, so some people were pleasantly surprised to see their skin becomes smoother after pigment removal. The younger you start, the better we can preserve your collagen content.
People in their mid-30s onwards tend to feel the most benefit. Many people in their 30-40’s find 1-2 treatments a year greatly helps to hold their skin condition. Younger people typically seek acne scar or tattoo removal treatment.

A: Depends on what you are dealing with.

  • Pigment: once gone, it’s gone. Pigment spots will only come back if the cause (UV exposure, hormone) is still present.
  • Acne scar: never comes back unless you get bad acne again.
  • Wrinkles, fine line: the collagen and elastin produced are your own and are there to stay. The effect will eventually wane, but how soon a booster is needed remains a personal choice.

A: There are other options available. LED light therapy is a clinically proven, gentle yet effective way to get healthier, better-looking skin. The process is described as “comfortable and relaxing”. It is around 45 minutes, with no side effects. You walk out with a healthy glow on the face. Perfect as a lunchtime skin treat.

A: Someone who

  • Is pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Had history of skin cancer
  • Has severe, concurrent disease. Eg. Severe heart disease, active cancer
  • Is currently showing signs of infection eg. Cold sore, shingles
  • Type 1 Diabetes

There are other conditions that we need to be cautious with. Our therapist will assess the condition beforehand and give the most honest advice.

A: The best car park is the 120-minute public carpark on Rawene Road, opposite the Birkenhead Library. The Highbury Shopping Centre is also available for 180-minute parking.
